‘Spindle data for optimum machining’

The digitalisation of machine tools, particularly through the use of IIoT-enabled motor spindles, improves process reliability and reduces downtimes. Recording and analysing machine data enables efficient energy monitoring and predictive maintenance. GMN demonstrates these benefits on an Overbeck grinding machine. In addition, secure communication between the components ensures a rapid response to process deviations. A digital image of the machine facilitates management and optimisation. The co-operation with Danobat Overbeck and participation in the ‘ESCOM’ research project promote developments in these areas.
