Progress Update from ESCOM - the data space project on the edge!
In November 2024, the ESCOM project team met at the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) for the fourth milestone meeting. During the workshop and the quarterly project meeting, the partners worked intensively on optimising their collaboration, clarifying open questions and defining the next steps for the successful completion of the project in 2025.
Significant progress:
The team uses real industrial data from the partner companies Berger Group and GMN Paul Müller Industrie GmbH & Co. KG to develop AI-supported services on Pontus-X. These are designed to precisely predict how long tools can still be used.
Another milestone is the integration of blockchain technology. It improves data management, protects privacy, ensures data integrity and guarantees data sovereignty. The project strictly adheres to the EU Data Act and ensures that the Gaia-X-compliant Pontus-X marketplace fulfils the highest security and transparency standards.
A look into the future:
In the coming months, the team will finalise the implementation of the blockchain technology, test additional AI-supported services and integrate them into the system. The final work on detailed descriptions of the AAS services is also on the programme.
The goals are within reach - more exciting developments are on the horizon!
